October is for Open Water Diver Certifications

Always wanted to get certified but never found the time?   Our classroom based and instructor lead course offers you the ability to finally explore the amazing underwater world in a super easy, fun and safe environment. 

 

The PADI Open Water certification is one of the most popular courses in the world and millions of people have already taken the plunge, now it is your turn. It's more than just an activity, it's a lifestyle and in the Cayman Islands, we are truly blessed with the most perfect place to begin. 

 

Our  passionate, friendly and experienced instructors will guide you through the steps required to become a confident scuba diver.  From your first bubbles to your last certification dive, we are there with you all the way! 

 

The Open Water Diver certification is broken down into 3 areas:

 

1. Knowledge Development – teaching you all the classroom theory needed behind scuba diving to be a safe diver.  These sessions will be held in our air conditioned, spacious classroom.  No eLearning / Digital Learning required. 

 

2. Confined Water Training – We teach this in our dive training pool onsite at Ocean Frontiers.   The pool is over 9 ft in depth and is one of the deepest pools on the island so you can learn how to breath underwater in a safe and relaxed environment.

 

3. Open Water Dives – Put all you have learnt into practice and explore Cayman Diving with four (4) amazing East End boat dives with your instructor on our state of the art custom built dive boats.  We do not do any shore dives with our students, nor take any shortcuts - always offering the full experience to prepare them for diving after certification. 

 

The course is scheduled over 3.5 days as follows:

 

Day One 8am - 4pm

 AM - Classroom: Modules 1,2,3

 PM - Pool Session: Module 1

 PM - Open Water Dive #1

 

Day Two 9am to 4pm

 AM - Pool Session: Modules 2 & 3

 PM - Open Water Dive #2

 PM - Classroom: Dive Tables

 

Day Three 9am to 4pm

 AM - Classroom: Modules 4 & 5, Final Exam

 PM -  Pool Sessions: Module 4 & 5

 

Day Four 7:45am to 12 noon

 AM - Open Water Dives 3&4

 

A key difference with our PADI Open Water Certification class is that we also teach the dive tables, which is now completely optional and skipped by many dive instructors.  We consider it the same as knowing how to do math before using a calculator. 

 

Open Water Course Dates, October 2020:   

 

Weekend options:-

 

A- 3rd & 4th, 10th & 11th October. 

B- 17th & 18th, 24th & 25th October. 

 

Mid-Term Break option:- 

 

C- 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd October.

 

Equipment:- All rental equipment is included in the rates.  All gear is cleaned to DoEH disinfection standards and protocols. 

 

Materials:- PADI Open Water Diver Manual, Diver Logbook and training record, and certification processing costs are all included in the price. No hidden fees. 

 

Gratuities for your instructor are not included. 

 

Price:-  CI$499 ea. or CI$399 ea., for siblings / bring a buddy discount.

 

Prerequisites:  individuals that can swim, pass a medical questionnaire and be a minimum of 10 years old.
