Courses with In-Water Training

All scuba courses that include in-water training—whether in a pool or the ocean—require each student to complete the industry-standard Diver Medical Questionnaire. This form asks a series of health-related questions to determine whether a medical evaluation by a physician is necessary before you can be cleared as “fit to dive.”

NOTE: A doctor’s clearance must explicitly state that you are “fit to dive” without conditions. An example of a conditional would be "only if the person stays shallower than 60 feet or only if they keep their heart rate under 120 bpm"
