Learning to scuba dive in the Cayman Islands is simple with eLearning, which allows you to independently study the knowledge required for open water scuba certification at your own pace, using your phone or laptop, from home before your vacation.
The Open Water Diver course enables you to dive anywhere in the world down to 60 feet (18 metres). We offer a premium service to all our student divers by including the eLearning in our course price so there's less steps for you and more free-time spent learning and having fun. The course paperwork will also be sent ahead of your arrival to be filled out online to ensure there are no unexpected delays to the start of your course with us.
Prerequisites
- 10 years or older
- Able to swim
- Medically fit to scuba dive (review Medical Questionnaire here)
- NOTE: All course paperwork will be sent via email to be filled out online before the start date.
Course Cost and Breakdown per person
- Open Water Diver premium course:
- Single Student Rate: US $975
- Group Rate (2+ students booking together): US $725 per person
- NOTE: Single rate does not equate to a private lesson. Group rates are discounted for bookings of multiple people on the same reservation.

Typical Training Schedule
Day 1
- 7:45 AM - 8 AM Meet Instructor and a Quick Review of Online theory
- 8 AM - 12 PM Pool Sessions
- 12 PM - 1 PM Lunch Break
- 1 PM - 4 PM Ocean Dives 1 & 2 (25 feet max)
Day 2
- 8 AM - 12 PM Pool Sessions
- 12 PM - 1 PM Lunch Break
- 1 PM - 5 PM Ocean Dives 3 & 4 (60 feet max)
- Once back at the dock - Fill out Logbooks & Final Sign Off

Frequently Asked Questions
Once you have booked and paid for your course with us, we will send you a student registration Google Form to fill out with the necessary information we need to assign the eLearning to each student that has signed up with you. This includes a unique email address per student, birthdate and legal names. You will then receive 2 emails: 1) is to create an account and start the eLearning course 2) is the course paperwork including the Diver Medical which needs to be filled out before arriving.
You have lifetime access to the eLearning content, however the quizzes, exam and practical training all need to be completed within one year to meet the course standards.
Once you finish the eLearning portion of the course, the Ocean Frontiers Dive Center is notified that you have completed it and that you are ready for the practical phase of the program.
