Welcome to "Featuring, the 55" - a new series by Ocean Frontiers aiming to highlight each and every dive site in the 55. We'll venture through all 6 dive zones around the East End, showcasing their beauty through awesome photos and videos along the way. First up, Julie's Wall in the Old Man Bay dive zone!

Julie's Wall: A Diver's Dream in Old Man Bay

Old Man Bay is home to many underwater experiences that capture the essence of the East End. One such hidden gem is Julie's Wall, an alluring dive site named after a local nurse who relished spending her weekends diving here. With its fascinating underwater features and enchanting marine life, Julie's Wall promises an experience you won't soon forget.

The Enchantment of the Overhanging Wall

The moment you dip below the surface at Julie's Wall, you'll notice a striking feature that sets it apart from other dive sites: an overhanging wall that you can swim beneath. This shadowy environment is home to deep-loving sponges, usually found at greater depths. Marvel at their incredible size, vivid colors, and otherworldly shapes as you glide through this twilight realm.

Two Worlds Collide: Main Wall and Mini Wall

One of the best things about Julie's Wall is the opportunity to explore both the deep overhang and the sun-drenched mini wall in a single dive. Located just a short swim apart, these contrasting underwater worlds offer an unparalleled experience that appeals to divers of all skill levels.

The Intense Cuteness of the Porcupine Puffer Fish

As you explore the mini wall, keep a keen eye out for the endearing Porcupine Puffer Fish. Their distinctive appearance, with blunt faces, bulging eyes, and tiny mouths, make them a favorite among divers. These friendly fish swim just above the reef and often allow divers to approach at a leisurely pace. Take note of their small spines, which give them the 'porcupine' nickname, and marvel at their impressive size, sometimes exceeding two feet in length.

Your Journey to Julie's Wall Awaits

With a manageable 40-minute drive time and depths ranging from 45 to 100 feet, Julie's Wall is an accessible and captivating dive site for all who venture beneath the waves. Don't let its under-the-radar status fool you; this site offers an unforgettable experience that rivals its more famous neighbors.
