What languages do you speak?
English, German & Afrikaans
Tell us what you did in a former life?
I basically grew up in tourism and hospitality while in SA, working in all sorts of roles & positions.
Some of my favourites were working in the bush as a ranger, managing, organizing & guiding tours & trips as well as managing bars and restaurants.
After I left SA for Europe I spent a decade as a project manager in IT & Cybersecurity focussed mainly on finance and compliance - no idea how it ended up there but it was certainly filled with interesting experiences and insights.
Besides this fulltime work I decided to take on more work and went part-time into diving to develop into an instructor and also a TEC diver.
What other places have you worked in the world?
South Africa, Germany, Malta, Belgium, Mozambique, The Maldives.
I have also planned, organized, sold and guided tours to Thailand, the Philippines, Spain, Eswatini, Lesotho and have more of these I still want to do ????
What is your favorite marine life?
Easy - Sharks! But I love so much of the underwater life, I could write a lengthy list here. In short:
I love my pipefish, Seahorses, Paperfish, Frogfish and, since I got here to Grand Cayman, Drums and Jawfish and much more.
What is your favorite Cayman dive site?
So far “Breakers Cutback” and “River of Sands”; fantastic swim throughs, depth and stunning topography and enough sand and reef to look for small things like pipefish and drums too.
What do you love most about the East End?
Tranquility, views and being close to the ocean without it being overrun by people.
