FAQ

Stingray City in Grand Cayman is home to about 100 Southern Stingrays (Hypanus americanus). The population varies seasonly and 2 thirds of the population are females.

Yes! They are free roaming stingrays that have been domesticated through continuous interactions with people. The Southern Stingrays stress response is flight not fight and they will do so by swimming away very quickly. Our expert stingray guides are there to ensure the stingray is calm before allowing anyone to touch and hold them.

We have a 31 foot by 8 foot panga style monohull with Twin Honda 100hp engines. The carrying capacity of this boat is limited to 12 passengers and 2 crew.

Marine life of interest at the Rum Point Reef include the following: Trumpetfish, Stoplight & Princess Parrotfish, Scrawled Filefish, French Grunts, Southern Stingrays, Eagle Rays, French Angelfish, Purple Sea Fans, Gorgonians, Staghorn Coral, Star Coral, Brian Coral, Tube Sponges and much more.....
