Located on the northeast corner of Grand Cayman and named after the famous novel by Jacqueline Susanne because everything here is beautiful and dream-like, Valley of the Dolls is one of the most photogenic dive sites on the East End. Excellent sponge variety and many tall soft corals dominate the site, including an 8-foot-tall Feather Plume north of the mooring pin. The main navigation feature is a canyon that splits a prominent coral buttress and serves as a perfect entrance onto the wall — like swimming through a portal into another world.
As one diver described it: the favorite swim-through is the one at Valley of the Dolls, because the lip at the exit causes divers to swim upward as they emerge onto the wall — the sensation is genuinely acrophobic. The open ocean beyond the canyon frames the azure blue in stunning contrast to the physical reef, creating a visual experience that keeps divers returning again and again.
