A gravity-defying arch is the namesake feature of this site, just a 10-minute boat ride from the dock. Wide enough for divers to pass through comfortably, it makes for a fantastic photo opportunity and is worth passing through several times to catch all the details. Pay close attention to the underside of the arch where Red Encrusting Algae and extremely delicate Purple Lace Coral thrive in the shade, and look into the cracks and crevices for juvenile fish and Banded Coral Shrimp — their tell-tale white antennae poking from rocky alcoves are the key to finding these colorful little crustaceans.
Between the pin and the arch, a series of narrow cuts and channels provides a pretty and engaging way to navigate back to the boat — weave through all of them to fully appreciate the site. The hard coral growth on top of the mini wall is excellent; watch for Grooved Brain Corals that look exactly as their name suggests. The Arch is a consistently rewarding dive that combines dramatic natural architecture with great marine life in a compact and easy-to-navigate site.
