Located half a mile north of the 1962 Ridgefield wreck, just past the East Channel, Old Wreck Head is an East End classic. It is a site that packs in everything — caverns, canyons, swim-throughs, windows, and overhangs — and is full of every type of fish life. Its exposed location means it is only safe to dive occasionally, which makes getting on it all the more rewarding.
The reef structure at Old Wreck Head is a showcase of the intricate, Swiss-cheese-style topography that defines the best of East End diving. When conditions permit, divers are rewarded with an immersive maze of interconnected features and abundant marine life in one of the more remote and dramatic corners of Grand Cayman's reef system.
