Ocean Frontiers’ Fleet of Limo-Style Dive Boats

Seven years ago, we at Ocean Frontiers Ltd., pioneers of East End diving in Grand Cayman, embarked on an ambitious project. We initiated the launch of a series of custom-designed dive boats, aiming to upgrade and expand our fleet to suit our growing business.

 

All of our new 46 foot dive boats were built by Newton Boats in Louisiana, USA.  Unlike most of the dive boats you may be familiar with, we ordered our boats with an unfinished cabin and dive deck- which enabled us to design and install our proprietory layout with individual tank stations and liveaboard style dive ladders. Our first 46-foot Newton, christened “Gun Bay Diver”, was followed by "Sparrowhawk Diver" and completing the trio, "Half Moon Diver". 

 

These boats were built for diving the Cayman Islands 365 days of the year, and designed with custom-features that make them a SCUBA diver's dream boat.

Taking cues from our divers, we went the extra mile and incorporated features that were a first for any dive shop. We aspired to create a dive boat that would be more akin to a limo service than a traditional dive boat.

 

Our aim was to offer a unique experience, something truly special. Our design included individual 'business class' pods for each diver, complete with dedicated tanks, a personal mask rinse bucket, a crate for equipment, double camera tables and a fully private and locable marine head (toilet) with hand basin, mirror and LED lighting . This customer-centric design was refined over a two-year process. 

 

We understand that divers need their space for their gear, and our boat provides just that. We want our guests to feel that we at Ocean Frontiers are committed to their comfort.

 

 

Ocean Frontiers has invested in excess of $1,000,000 over five years to replace and upgrade our fleet. Many of our guests return year after year, and we strive to make their diving experience unforgettable. Our Integrity Class Newtons are powered by the best engines money can buy, making them fuel efficient and eco-friendly. These engines also give these boats the unique ability to traverse around the entire island for our 3-Tank Safari, and even as far as Little Cayman, in a day-trip.
 

Our new Integrity fleet extends our legendary 'Green Shorts' service, ensuring that all our guests need to do is 'roll out of bed and onto our shiny new dive boats'. The boats are named after historical marine landmarks, sites, or points of interest around the East End district. Having operated out of Gun Bay for over two decades, we found it fitting to name the first of our new Integrity class of dive vessels, "Gun Bay Diver". All our boats have elevated our diving experience, enhanced our capabilities, and have given us the smoothest rides in the Caribbean.

 

 

We've taken the boat diving experience to a whole new level.... and once you experience it, you may not want to dive anywhere else. Our project to transform our dive fleet has been completed and has met our all of our expectations and those of our divers and snorkelers too.
