After an extended lockdown, we are experiencing serious scuba withdrawal symptoms! Fortunately, the easing of restrictions are happening and the opening of the international airport and border is on the horizon. There are still milestones to reach, the next is June 22nd. All being well, we are hoping to see the opening up of resorts for the local domestic market over the summer. As we continue on this path, September is the current planned opening time for tourism arrivals to open up and flight schedules to recommence.
Testing for COVID-19 has become readily available and the authorities are continuing to focus on testing as much of the population as possible and contact tracing positive results. Although we have had over 100 cases, with the exception of the one cruise passenger in March, we have had zero fatalities since and we sincerely hope that this trend continues. Perhaps all this sunshine / UV light does make a difference?
On Sunday, 7th June, restaurants with outdoor patios and venues will be permitted to open for business, providing social distancing guidelines are adhered to. Following this, all retail stores will be allowed to open with certain restrictions.
We consider ourselves very fortunate to have lots of support from our loyal customers, who are ready to jump on the first flights available and come diving with us. As the time gets closer and we are able to confirm exact opening dates, we will share our opening specials and promotions.
