Cinderella's Castle

Dive Site: Cinderella's Castle

Location: Just offshore from the Morritt's Resort, easily accessible from our dock

Dive Site Background: The site was named "Cinderella's Castle" by a visitor who felt like she was swimming around in a fairytale castle.

Dive Site Details: This fantasy sunken palace is an open cavern network of ancient rock formations that provide passageways, pillars, and windows, illuminating the underwater castle with brilliant light shafts bursting through the chimney ceilings. Depths suitable for all levels of divers. Highlights include the decorative Lace corals, Elkhorn corals, and an array of tropical fish including the stunning juvenile Yellowtail Damsel Fish.

Fun Fact or Anecdote: We sometimes tell the kids that the juvenile Yellowtail Damsel Fish, with their glowing incandescent blue spots, need to be collected and put on charge overnight!

Practical Information: The site is best enjoyed at a slow pace, exploring and looking for inhabitants like Patterson cleaner shrimps, Nudibranchs, Squat shrimps in sea anemones, and schools of Chubb, Snapper, and Blue Chromis often found near the surface.

Safety and Conservation: As always, adhere to standard diving guidelines and respect the marine environment.

The enchanting Cinderella's Castle, located just offshore from the Morritt's Resort, provides an unforgettable dive experience, transporting you into an underwater fairy tale. The site was named after a young girl felt the large caverns, pillars, and windows filled with tropical fish resembled a Disney fairytale castle.

This sunken palace boasts a fascinating network of ancient rock formations that create a magical maze of interconnected rooms. Brilliant light shafts burst through the chimney ceilings, illuminating the site and casting a mesmerizing glow on the decorative Lace and fortress-like Elkhorn corals.

"Exploring Cinderella's Castle, you get the feeling of being in an old castle from medieval times," shares Logan Panton, our manager and Dive Instructor. "Taking your time, exploring at a slow pace, you'll discover a diverse ecosystem. From Patterson cleaner shrimps and Nudibranchs to Squat shrimps nestled in sea anemones. Up on the top, where currents bring in a wealth of nutrients, you'll often find big schools of Chubb, Snapper, and Blue Chromis."

One of the site's highlights is the juvenile Yellowtail Damsel Fish. As youngsters, they lack the characteristic yellow tail, but their bodies are covered in tiny incandescent blue spots, creating a magical spectacle as if they're glowing from an inner light. To keep the magic alive for our youngest divers, we tell them a fun tale: at the end of every day, someone has to go collect all the Yellowtail Damsels to put them on charge overnight!

Just like a fairytale, Cinderella's Castle offers endless discoveries and magical encounters. It's another 'Must see!' when diving with us at Ocean Frontiers.
