Named for a well-known filmmaker, underwater stuntman, and former editor of Skin Diver magazine who declared this his favorite dive site during a visit to Cayman, Jack's is a must-have logbook entry for any diver visiting East End. The large sandy area under the boat resembles a stadium, and the show features Caribbean Reef Sharks — the real deal. An underwater buoy at 20 feet holds a transceiver connected to it to collect data from tagged sharks for the government's conservation program; dive staff can tell you about each individual shark and how to identify their unique personalities.
For divers who can drag their eyes away from the sharks, head down a canyon at the western edge of the sandy patch to reach the wall in style — the tunnel forks twice so check with your Divemaster. Two chimneys plunge through the canyon floor with tantalizing hints of the mysteries below. Jack McKenney himself called it his favorite dive site, and with its combination of dramatic topography, abundant coral, and resident sharks, it is not difficult to see why.
