Delwin is a Cayman Islands legend — a long-since retired Ocean Frontiers Divemaster and Boat Captain who was instrumental in setting up and installing the mooring balls around the island. As a result of his hard work, he was given the opportunity to name a site, and he named this one after himself. Just like the man, Delwin's Delight is true Caymanian — rolling fields of coral in the iconic Spur and Groove formations for which the island is renowned, covered in large sponges, sea plumes, hard corals, fans, fish, and macro life.
The coral head just in front of the pin is a favorite local hangout for all sorts of fish. Angelfish are a beautiful sighting all over these reefs, often found in pairs near sponges that a feeding turtle has recently broken open — the Angelfish use the fresh opening to access the delicious sponge interior. Note the French Angelfish with their dark scales and yellow highlights compared to the more muted Gray Angelfish, while the Queen Angelfish always gets pulses racing with its resplendent colors and patterns.
