PADI Open Water Referral Dives 

Our Referral Diver Certification program is perfect for people who want to begin the scuba certification with a dive shop in their home country (cold) and then want to complete the required Open Water training dives in the warm waters of the Caribbean, here in Grand Cayman.

The Ocean Frontiers Dive School specializes in Open Water Referral Certifications in the Cayman Islands. Our PADI Instructors are dedicated to giving you the best possible learning experience and certifying you as a safe and proficient Open Water Diver, ready to explore the dive sites of Grand Cayman.

Once you have successfully completed the Academic and Confined Water training, you can finish up your PADI Open Water Certification with us. You will meet with your PADI instructor and review what you learned before you head off to do training dives 1 and 2. All the dives are boat dives, which are easier and you get to go to better dive sites. The first 2 dives are on a shallow reef, 15-25 feet, inside the barrier reef so it is nice and calm. On the next day you will be on one of our bigger boats for training dives 3 and 4 to a maximum depth of 60 feet. After that you are certified! And hopefully sign up for some more amazing dives!

After completing the four "check-out" dives over a two-day period your PADI instructor will complete the certification process online and issue a temporary certification document. Your official PADI Certification Card will be mailed to your home address provided.  As a newly certified diver, you can then spend the rest of your vacation diving!

Day One - Open Water Dives 1 & 2

We offer Open Water Referral Certification Dives, every week, 52 weeks per year. Booking online and in advance is recommended.

PADI Standards also require the purchase of a Recreational Dive Planner (RDP Table or eRDP version) and a log book. You may purchase these at your home town dive store when you complete your classroom training. These items are not included in our course fees.

Universal Open Water Referral Dives

We offer Open Water referral courses for the following diving agencies: PADI, NAUI, SDI and SSI.  Students must present UNIVERSAL referral forms from their original instructor upon check-in.  Course includes all equipment, boat dives and certification materials. If you are completing a PADI course and did the theory component with textbooks in person with an instructor back home, then an additional processing fee of $50 will apply.

The cost of an Open Water Referral is: US$375.00 per person
