  • Tell us what you did in a former life?

I grew up in New Jersey, and worked part-time at the boardwalk and a deli. Then, I moved to South Carolina for university, Go Chanticleers!  After graduating, I moved to California while still working summers as a Divemaster. Just before moving to Grand Cayman, I was bartending part-time and tutoring maths and sciences as well.

  • What other places have you worked in the world?

I have worked in Utila, Honduras and in Natewa Bay, Fiji for Operation Wallacea. I spent my summers with Opwall, starting in Utila as a research assistant, and I really enjoyed research diving. I went back over the next few summers working as a Divemaster. When they opened a site in Fiji, I was lucky to be there for the first summer the site was open to students. I went back to Utila the following summer to complete my IDC and IE and the rest is history!

  • What is your favorite marine life?

What isn't! I do love sea urchins though, as they were the bulk of the research I did in Utila. They hold a special place in my heart, especially slate-pencil urchins.

  • What is your favorite Cayman dive site?

Big house is my favorite dive site because it has a little bit of everything and Elmo's Wall is great with a gorgeous swim through.

  • What do you love most about the East End?

I get a great ocean view all the time and I am never too far away from a great shore dive on my days off.

  • Tell us a random fact about yourself?

I was once in a music video

  • What would you be doing if you weren't working at Ocean Frontiers?

I would probably still be in school working towards a masters in either marine chemistry or physical oceanography.

  • What is your Super Power?

Spearing lionfish and turning them into a good meal like lionfish poboys!
